What the audit measures

The metrics Google uses to rate your store

An e-commerce performance audit measures how long your store takes to load and respond on a phone, whether Google and AI assistants can read it, and how much that slowness costs in sales. We use Google's Core Web Vitals with real customer data plus 9 technical checks run directly on your store.

LCP

Largest Contentful Paint

Time until the main content appears, usually the product image or the banner. It is what shoppers feel as "the page has opened".

Good: up to 2.5 s
INP

Interaction to Next Paint

How fast the store reacts to a tap: opening the menu, choosing a size, adding to basket. It replaced FID in March 2024.

Good: up to 200 ms
CLS

Cumulative Layout Shift

How much the page jumps while loading. A button that moves at the last second causes wrong taps and abandoned visits.

Good: up to 0.1
Technical SEO

Indexing and product data

HTTPS, noindex, title, meta description, sitemap and Product schema with price and stock, which earns rich results on Google.

GEO

AI visibility

Whether robots.txt lets ChatGPT, Perplexity and other assistants in, and whether the brand has organisation schema so it can be recognised and recommended.

Revenue

Revenue at risk

A prudent estimate, as a percentage and in euros, of what slowness is costing you, with the method and source explained in the result.

+8.4%

retail conversions for every 0.1 seconds faster on mobile.

Source: Deloitte for Google, "Milliseconds Make Millions" (2020).
53%

of mobile visits are abandoned when a page takes longer than 3 seconds to load.

Revenue-focused audit

Every blocker in your store is money left on the table

We turn your store's data into a clear action plan, ordered by what brings in the most revenue first.

  • ! Slow pages that make shoppers give up before buying
  • ! A checkout with friction that fills the basket with abandonments
  • ! Products missing from Google searches and AI answers
  • ! Paid traffic landing on pages that do not convert
  • ! Decisions made without data, missing opportunities

Frequently asked questions

Everything you need to know before you start

How long does the performance audit take?

Google's measurement takes 20 to 90 seconds and returns real data on speed, mobile experience, SEO and AI access. The audit call with our specialist lasts 30 minutes and ends with the solution and a fixed price, with no PDF proposals to review later.

What exactly does the audit check on my online store?

It measures Google's Core Web Vitals (LCP, INP and CLS) with data from real Chrome users, the Performance, Accessibility, Best Practices and SEO scores from PageSpeed Insights, and runs 9 direct checks on the store: platform, HTTPS, indexing, title, meta description, organisation schema, Product schema on product pages, sitemap and AI crawler access in robots.txt.

What are Core Web Vitals and what values are good?

They are the three metrics Google uses to rate the experience of a page. LCP (Largest Contentful Paint) measures how long the main content takes to appear and is good up to 2.5 seconds. INP (Interaction to Next Paint) measures how quickly the page responds to a tap or click and is good up to 200 milliseconds. CLS (Cumulative Layout Shift) measures whether the page jumps while loading and is good up to 0.1.

Is the audit data real or estimated?

The metrics are real: they come from the official Google PageSpeed Insights API, with CrUX field data when the store has enough traffic and a lab test when it does not. The result includes a link to check it on Google. Only the lost revenue in euros is an estimate, calculated prudently from the Deloitte study for Google Milliseconds Make Millions (2020). If Google cannot measure the store, the page says so and shows no numbers.

How is lost revenue calculated?

The Milliseconds Make Millions study (Deloitte for Google, 2020) found that every 0.1 seconds faster on mobile lifted retail conversions by 8.4%. We apply only 5% to 10% of that effect for each 0.1 seconds of LCP above 2.5 seconds, with a small adjustment for INP and CLS, capped at 30% of sales. The euro figure comes from the monthly revenue range you choose.

How much does it cost to optimise the store after the audit?

The audit and the call are free. The entry offer is an Optimisation Sprint at a fixed price between 500 and 950 euros, delivered in 14 days. If you move to an ongoing SEO or web development contract, the Sprint fee is fully deducted from the first monthly fee.

Does the audit work for my platform (WooCommerce, Shopify or other)?

Yes. The audit works on any public online store: WooCommerce, Shopify, PrestaShop, Magento or a custom build. The platform is detected automatically and the recommendations on the call are tailored to it.

Do you work with stores outside Portugal?

Yes. onOrbit Marketing is based in Ponte da Barca, Portugal, and works with online stores across Europe. The call runs on Google Meet, in English or Portuguese.

Do I have to sign a long contract?

No. The Sprint has a fixed scope and a fixed price, with no 6 or 12-month lock-in. You only move to an ongoing service if you want to continue after seeing the Sprint results.
